The outlook in India for children who grow up in orphanages is pretty terrible. There are about 400,000 children in 10,000 orphanages across India. Less than 3000 get adopted every year. The rest grow up in the orphanages till they are 18, at which point they have to leave and fend for themselves, with no support and no money for further education. The challenges this population faces are invisible to most people.
We are a young non-profit and need all the help we can get to raise awareness of our mission to help institutionalized youth in India transition to independence.
